Help & FAQ

Quick answers to common questions about how Solvory works.

Getting started

What is Solvory?

Solvory is a multilingual personal-debt tracker. You record what you owe and what's owed to you, and the app keeps a clean, searchable ledger of every debt and payment.

Solvory does not hold or move money — when it's time to settle a debt, you do it the way you always have (cash, bank transfer, etc.) and both parties confirm in the app.

How do I sign up?

Click Create account, enter your name, email, and a password (8+ characters). You'll get a verification email — until you click the link, you can use the app but a banner reminds you to confirm.

How do I add my first debt?

Open Add a debt from the Dashboard. Pick the direction ("I owe" or "Owed to me"), enter the amount and currency, name the counterpart, choose a type (food, rent, loan, etc.), and optionally a due date.

Using Solvory

How do I mark a debt as paid?

Open the debt, then tap Mark as paid. The app records a payment for the full amount and flips the status to paid. Partial payments are supported too — record any amount and the remaining balance updates automatically.

What's a settlement proposal?

Sometimes both sides agree to settle a debt for less than the full amount. From a debt detail, tap Propose settlement and enter the new amount. The other party can accept or decline.

Can I edit a debt after creating it?

Yes — open the debt and tap the pencil icon in the top right. You can change every field except the unique ID.

How does language switching work?

Click the EN chip in the navbar (or the locale picker in Settings). The whole interface re-renders in the new language. Arabic ships with proper RTL layout.

Privacy & security

Does Solvory hold my money?

No, never. We have no payment account, no bank link, no card on file. Solvory is a coordination tool — settlement happens between you and the other party using whatever you've always used.

Can other people see my debts?

No. Each user only sees their own data. Partner-sharing (where a spouse or family member can view your ledger) is a future feature you'd opt into deliberately.

Is my password secure?

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before storage. We never see your plain password. When you change your password, all your other sessions are signed out automatically.

Account

How do I export my data?

Settings → Your data → Download. You'll get a CSV with every debt — id, counterpart, amount, currency, status, dates, notes. Open it in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets.

How do I change my password?

Settings → Security → Change. We'll ask for your current password, then your new one (8+ characters).

What happens when I delete my account?

Your account is soft-deleted: it disappears from the app immediately, but data is retained for 30 days in case you change your mind. After 30 days, it's permanently erased.

I forgot my password. What now?

Click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. We'll email you a reset link. The link expires after 60 minutes.
